What is wood plastic vinyl flooring?

WPC flooring stands for wood plastic composite. Suitable for DIY, these 100% waterproof engineered luxury vinyl planks and tiles feature an easy interlocking system and can be installed over most existing subfloors.

WPC vinyl flooring is extremely durable and known for its gorgeous, realistic aesthetic. Using advanced technology, manufacturers are able to beautifully imitate the look of natural wood and stone at a lower price.

There's a reason WPC vinyl is taking the flooring world by storm! This bad boy is changing the way people buy flooring, and it will only continue to grow and increase in popularity over the next few years.

WPC vinyl plank flooring and WPC vinyl tile flooring are known to be 100% waterproof. It is a luxury vinyl flooring with a special waterproof core, making it perfect for any room in the house.

All WPC products will be considered luxury vinyl tile or luxury vinyl plank, but not all luxury vinyl is WPC. Kind of like all golden retrievers are dogs, but not all dogs are golden retrievers. It is a specialty product in the luxury vinyl market.

It’s worth noting that the word “luxury” is a bit like “organic.” There is no industry standard or definition, so you have to be careful when you see it. Typically (and always for us), luxury vinyl products include thick, durable flooring, multiple layers, realistic 3D printing, a tough wear layer, and sometimes a textured surface. If not, it's probably more like the kind of junk food that slaps an organic label on the cover to make you think it's healthy.

Why is this important?
Simple: The thicker the board, the denser it is. It will make it feel sturdier and more solid under your feet while also covering up a less than perfect subfloor. It will also offer increased elasticity and durability, making it more comfortable to stand for long periods of time and more likely to stand the test of time.

All of our WPC vinyl flooring is relatively thick and absolutely dense and durable enough to be used throughout the home. If you want to determine the best quality, you need to focus more on the wear layer than the board thickness.
